Not likely, some 80,000 rifles were sold outright to Canada, and considerably more to Britain before lend lease for the home guard, and later MAP to other countries No involvement by U.S. army after the sale.
This was pointed out to me by Rick the Librarian when I stumbled on to my early Winchester, and proved out by the Ferris book.
The import stamp on these are light, easily polished off by a later civilian owner giving it some TLC and a re-blue, or just brought back in before the GCA of '68 before the import stamp was required.
Regardless, these were well selected rifles before the sale, mostly original with none of the storage rust of the inter war years, and pretty well cared for after the sale.
