Strip and RLO the wood. BLO is a good finish but never correct for a carbine.

Didn't that year/serial number production have the rear flip up sight? Just asking.

Don't waste time and money on that stock. Look hard enough and you'll probably find the nice I-cut, high wood stock that S/N deserves and I'm sure this forum's members will help. Keep the old one in storage to pacify those who say changing the stock alters it's history. It may, but it'll sure look better. And congratulations on finding that great looking 5 digit Inland.
