Default Sat Sep 28 2013 Report

First the bad news:

No SGs or FGs, except the uber-expensive Sniper editions and NM varieties.

The 5 or 6 M1903A3 drill rifles were extremely work, broken stocks, etc.

22LR and Carbine ammo still on back order.

No more Barreled Receivers

No more Garand Receivers (someone bought a sh!tload of these in Aug when i was there)

I didn't seen any M1903 receivers either

No more Navy Mod 0 or Mod 1 (there might still be a few in the back, but these are probably reserved for existing mail orders.

The rusty Carbine mags are awful, I won't even buy one.

Only eight 16" rack grade SA bayos out (possibly a few more in the back, but again reserved for mail order)

Only AFH and UFH 10" bayos and no more correct US scabbards on these (I got the only Utica (unmodified) bayo there was!)

There were some M5A1 (6") bayos, but the scabbards were quite grimy.

The Kimbers are long gone.

The not so bad news:

Several SG Specials (all HRA), and as you all know these are very nice.

Some drill rifles actually had wood stocks, and a few were USGI. Of course you had to find one with the sights on it as well.

Plenty of nice (but sanded or cleaned) M14 stocks, many with visible proof and DAS markings.

The tomato stake barrels are still there, marked down to $20 each.

Still some AP (quite a bit less after I departed), but the cans were very dirty and banged up.

The good news:

The shelves between the coffee pot and the window where you turn in your papers (and your wallet ) have been re-arranged. The store might be selling parts soon!

But this brings up more bad news - Rifles will probably never be back in the quantities and variety that they were in the summer of 2010 and 2011.

Great report. I'm glad I got most of what I want already from the CMP.

I was there on Weds and they had moved the tables. The bayonets were on ta table by the door as you entered and the rusty mags by the counter.
What happened to all the parts to those H&R M12s?

When you say "several HRASGS's" any estimate as to actually how many there were? I'm hoping to get down there soon, but I'm just waiting on the money I need for one!

I've been there three times since i returned from deployment. There were at least a dozen HRA SGSs each time, and they all looked essentially flawless.

Been hitting the store 2-4 times a year since they opened. Ive cancelled both my 2013 trips based on the reports. Just cant justify the travel expense and unpaid time off. When I start seeing reports of 100 FG Rifles on the rack Ill be there the next day.

Just dont see it happening in the near future.

As always, if making the trip, in the current state of LIMITED store stock, it is wise to call the store a day or so before your trip to ensure they have what you are driving to get.

What they had Saturday may be applicable today (Thursday, the next day they are open) but tomorrow.......
FYI, I saw TWO HRASSGs last Wednesday, both had just been put out. I think one was bought that day.

I'm currently planning to make the trip this Saturday, but I will definitely call Friday before they close. I was just hoping that they still had a decent number in stock at the end of last week.
