Default New gun store pickup.

Walked into my local gun store a coupe of weeks back, and they had a carbine hanging on the wall, so I had to bring it home.

Got it for $699.

Inland M1 Carbine 34009
Barrel: Inland Div General Motors 1-44
Gas Cylinder Marked "I-I"

Legend:
Part - Type/Variant - Marking - Notes

Marked Parts:
Trigger Housing - Type 1 - INLAND
Front Sight - Type 1 - R
Rear Sight - Adjustable Milled - SA
Hammer - Type 3 - HI
Bolt (Flat) - Type 2 - AI
Sear - Type 1 - RI
Trigger - Type 1 - RI
Magazine Catch - Type 3 - WI
Barrel Band - Type 3 - JM & SU
Operating Slide - Type 5 - Underlined PI
Handguard - Type 3 - OI
Stock - Type 3 - None Observed - Sanded and covered in Polyurethane and/or Shellac Non-serif P visible on front of handgrip. Marking "MRM" visible upper right side of buttstock: "Mount Rainier Ordnance Depot"


Unmarked Parts
Recoil Plate - Type 2 - Unmarked - Machined, not cast.
Trigger Spring - Type 3
Safety - Type 4 - Omega M (M in Omega symbol)
Buttplate - Unmarked - Square Pattern Consistent with Inland
Firing Pin - Type 3 - Unmarked
Trigger Housing Pin - Type 2

Unobserved Parts:
Front Sight Key
Front Sight Pin
Gas Piston - No Visible Marking
Gas Piston Nut - Original staking in place

Man you stole that sweet carbine....great buy! I would remove the shellac finish and BLO the stock ( that's just my preference ). Now let us know how she shoots!

That would be listed for $1495 at my gun store. Not saying it’s worth that much, it’s just what they would list it at

Agreed! The few times I see a well worn or bubba job carbine in a LGS, they price them like a museum quality, presentation carbine. OP, nice find at $699.

I agree with all the above! Nice carbine! Strip and BLO the wood and it would be beautiful! If you want to sell it.......
