I refused to pay but my links always kept working here, "though I have not posted new ones since the extortion started" I think I slipped through the cracks

Seems to be? I never did anything to my account when the "hoopla" happened. I just ignored it and figured my uploads were lost.

I'll play ... here is a Photobucket-stored pic of one of my CMP M1Carbines:

Well ... wouldja look at that!

My Photobucket pics eventually stopped displaying many months ago. I copied my images but left my free account in-place.

I received an email form Photobucket today explaining how they will be improving their wonderful service in mid'Jan'19.

Perhaps they have relented and decided that allowing free accounts to, once again, display stored images elsewhere?

Nope, not falling for it again. They killed over ten years of automotive tech for me. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

Same here. I had not signed into the "Bucket" for quite awhile prior to all the alerts coming out and all my photo links continue to work. Hope they have changed their new policy as I haven't settled on a new photo hosting service, really don't know which one would be the best and easiest to use. Still have all of the photos I stored in photobucket, but they are scattered and not organized. Some would have to be scanned again if I can't transfer from the bucket.
