Dang, Warden, that's nice. Congrats on a fine looking restoration.
    Where'd you get the stock?

The stock came from What A Country. If you call on Fridays and ask for a guy named Brent, he will dig through what they have and send you photos. I think he is their stock guy. I got it for $90 in case you're wondering. I didn't even see the remnants of the RMC and crossed cannons until I cleaned all of the grime and old varnish off of it. I used my favorite technique for cleaning it, brake cleaner from NAPA and steel wool. After it is clean, I put on a coat or two of Tru-Oil and finish it off with automotive wax. Works everytime.

Warden: What grade of steel wool do you use, i.e. 00, 000, etc.? I have a stock that needs cleaning and refinishing.

I start with OO and then work down to 0000. The trick is to use a lot of brake cleaner and DON'T SPRAY IT DIRECTLY ON THE STOCK. Spray it on the steel wool and then apply. Use lots of it, its cheap. Good luck.

Stands for "Barreled Receiver". The very last of CMP's carbines. We build them back up to shooters.

Where in the heck did you find all the S'G' parts??? Our S'G' #'s are only 18,686 apart. Closest I've found yet. My S'G' was a racker and not a BR. Ya did a bang up job saving the barrel and action fro the trash bin.
                              Great job!
