Well - the Classic Firearms Krag Carbine arrived today - looks super. And it has what looks like an original leather sling attached to boot!

Super happy!

Your lucky for the price you got it for. A lot of times Classic Firearms gouges the price out of the rifles they sale. The past year since they haven't been getting many shipments of surplus, They've been buying out private collections off individuals and putting high prices on them.

Griff557, Thanks for the tip. Just ordered two of the Krags dated 1902 and 1903. Will post pics once received.

Hopefully you get good ones-from the little I know/learning about Krags they seem like a decent deal. Mine has a really nice bore which can be hard to come by I guess. I picked my rifle because it was one of the few that had 1902 sights on it which is what I thought I wanted. Between the crappy weather and hunting season Iíve only been to the range once. I bought a couple boxes of Hornady factory ammo and some new Hornady brass to get started. I havenít reloaded anything yet. With the rear sight bottomed out the rifle shoots just a bit low from the POA to POI. Overall Iam happy with the rifle and I think with a little more trigger time and handloads I can tighten the groups up

Nice group for a rifle over 100 years old!

That's not bad at all. Remember too you're using totally different ammo than it was intended for (220gr RN military loading) so it may be on the money with those. I would be happy its shooting low with the sight bottomed out since you can always go up from there! Not like my trapdoor that shoots a full target high at 100 yds lol.

Iam happy with the way it’s shooting-a lot easier to “come up” than it is to go down with the sight bottomed out. Had my “new to me” Finn M39 at the range the same day it’s shooting 12”-15” high with the rear sight bottomed out
