Nice looking pistol. I would be putting it in four wheel drive and going to get that. Congratulations on owning a very nice piece of military history.

Thanks guys. Pistol is dry as a bone, seems tight with no rattles.
Have what looks to be an O-68 electropenciled below the serial number (see first photo, purposely left large). Can't find any other rebuild marks. Guessing it's a Field Grade due to some wear on backstrap and the commercial slide.
Overall very pleased with the pistol.

More photos below

I was just under 12,100 and picked up my field grade today. Decent looking Rand with Colt slide but no rebuild marks. I was really hoping to get something with a rebuild mark.
I guess I’ll just have to keep checking the secondary market for one to pop up.

Yep, my Colt frame RR slide SG did not have any rebuild markings either. I'm happy with the condition of mine, but also disappointed with the lack of any rebuild markings.

As someone new to this - why are rebuild markings desirable?

To me it's just a way to track a little bit of where the pistol has been. Not a big deal to me, I guess. I'm sure more knowledgeable people will chime in.
