Default SS report 4/30

stopped in today. had 2 SG SA's, i bought one, the other left right after i chose mine. last ones so they had been passed by by many, but were still in much better shape than the SG's i saw a few weeks back.

full racks of m1d's, collector grade, service grade special, plenty..

actually had some decent looking carbines. i dont know anything about them but they didnt look quite as awful as what i had seen previously there.

absolutely zero mossberg 22's. that sucked because i wanted to get 1-2 more.

alot of "rusty" kimbers. almost pulled one out but passed.

there was a ton of field grade SA's, many looked to be in very good shape(for field grade..). sure alot of buried treasure in the racks on those.

ammo in stock, added 2 cans of hxp to the pile.

was a good trip, nice to talk to Leon again.

Thanks CMP!

I hit the store around 1230 yesterday afternoon. TeeJay's report was pretty complete. However, I would differ on his opinion about the Carbines... The ones they have on the floor are in the worst shape I have seen there.

They had about 40 National Postal Meters, 40 Underwoods, and about 20 Standard Products. I gauged most of them and they all ate the gauge. Best I found was a couple that were around 2. All the stocks were badly beaten up and dried out.

Plenty of "rusty" Kimbers but all that I saw had the cut marks. Still one of the best deals there.

I ended up taking home a nice SA Special, SN 58009XX that had a ME of .5 and a very light CMP cartouche.

All in all another great trip to the South Store and a chance to talk to Leon and the staff.
