Default Correct Factory Bolt Markings For A 1943 Remington 03A3

What would be the correct factory bolt markings, other than an "R", for a March 1943 Remington 03A3? Also are the replacement Remington bolts marked differently?
Thanks

A March 1943 Remington bolt would have a small "R" and a "42" beneath the handle. Other possibilities also exist, but that one is easiest to describe and reasonably common.

Remington bolts made on their spare parts contract have square safety lugs.

Good Luck!

Real Hard!!! But finding one marked "R" and "42" shouldn't be hard at all.

p.s.,

If you wait a couple of days and give Bubba time to see this posting, he'll have several fresh samples waiting for you!

Ooops meant to say "42" instead of "43". Corrected the post. So I guess Im looking for a NOS Remington bolt marked "42" instead of "43" . If I cant find a "42" what other bolt markings would be correct? Thanks

Well it turns out, after consulting my data base, that a Remington bolt with a "3" stamped atop the handle would actually be more correct for your rifle than a bolt with "42" stamped beneath the handle. The "3" bolts are very common.

An R 42 bolt covers very late 1942 and very early 1943. It is correct for late M1903's and early M'03-A3's.

Yesterday at the Allentown gun show, bill ricca had 2 each nos remingtin r 42 bolts on his table...50.00 each....he looked better physically, than he has in the last 4 months....Sadly, a guy came to his table looking for a 1911 trigger...Bill asked, what is that...regards....alex
