I think conspiracy theorists would think there are some on this website even crazier than them.

Postal tubs are about 18 by 13 and 11 inches deep...you've probably underestimated the numbers received today. That said the current CEO is pretty tight lipped so we aren't likely to get the number received.

Eh, in the photo they are not all filled, plus the variety of packaging (looks like some people actually mailed theirs in rigid box-like envelopes), 50 per bin doesn't seem far off. Might be on the high side, actually.

StarLord - that is just USPS priority mail, you need to include FedEx and UPS mailings too. Sounds like some people also sent it by first class mail which may not be in the bins. I would think there would be as many envelopes from each of them as USPS so now that would be over 3000 pieces of mail. Our odds are now a crap shoot.

wonder if first in, last out applies to the mail bins just as it did with carbine parts when they were built. If so orders received at the CMP late in the day may just get tossed on top of those received earlier!

There are multiple USPS deliveries per day. That photo is likely only one of them.

Fwiw, I had sent an email to CMP on Saturday, asking if I would be notified if a lesser grade was available in the event service grade was out....just got this response:

Due to the amount of orders we received today there is no way of knowing right now if we will be able to offer you anything else or if you made the cut.

The photo of those mail tubs looks like the same one posted a few years back when another CMP buying frenzy took place...

Let's hope they are as reasonably priced.
Cmp speculates $1000 for rack grade 1911s.
