Default proper target for Perry

As my grandson and I are prepping for the upcoming Oct 16th air rifle match at Perry, what target do the Novices shoot? The web site says the 200 yd SR target. Is that the same as we shoot the CMP games matches? That seems awful huge for 33 feet. Thanks, Swede

the target aiming black is the same I believe as the 10 meter air rifle target
they do change the scoring rings though, this is all done on a computer,
its pretty cool, they even give you a printed paper plotting all youre shots
at the end of the match, the targets them selves are actually blank with
a hole cut out with a black ribbon behind the cut out. its all scored electronicly. if you want to practice the aiming black is 30.5mm or 1.20"
its alot of fun, we did the test match back in Jan. 08 and had a great time
becareful its easy to get hooked, just like high power. I ended up getting a new air rifle from champions choice that following summer.
I am sure you and youre grandson will have agreat time. keep us posted on how it goes.

You can get practice targets from the CMP. They are reduced SR targets. They are sized to replicate the full size target at the 33 foot distance. You get 250 targets for $30. The link to the target page is http://www.odcmp.com/Programs/targets.htm. They are quality targets on quality paper. This is a good way to get in practice during the winter.
