If you have a spare CMP barreled receiver laying around then the good furniture option for $500 would not be a bad deal at all.

But if you are starting from scratch, I don't see how you could build a decent one for less than $1,000 or more, which is not a very good deal.

I bought two of their junk kits. Rust and pitting on most parts, parts are beat up with no finish left, shot out and pitted bores, with an import marked barrels, A stub of a receiver on the barrels. I figure I got $400 worth of usable parts for my $ 750.00.
Bottom line, the kits are mostly junk that is unfit even for a dummy gun.
Pretty much as they described.
I think both barrels are Marlin barrels.

Curious, what was the import mark on the barrels?

C.A.I. Georgia VT, Thanks,
In addition, there were tags on the TH with the code of the hammer, trigger and sear. Which means, the TH have been disassembled to look for rare codes and then reassembled. The good news is I got one stock that was in one piece, but unknown maker. And I got one of those expensive "W" White hammers. Oh, happy days.
I am not sure I would buy any more if they were $ 200.00 shipped.

Should be a VT for Vermont on the import stamp.

As a update, Both of the gas pistons were free. No rust inside the housing. A bit of a surprise based on the condition of everything else. I got two front sight pins and keys that are usable. So I am on the way to get $400.00 worth of parts. (Maybe)
Both type 3 bands are junk, one is all beat up and rusty and the other one, fairly nice has no screw and stripped threads. The front sights maybe ok and one rear sight might be usable.

I'll bet these were rifles imported by C.A.I. that were not salvageable to sell as serviceable and hence demilled as junk. Thanks for the report 6ring, and sorry you didn't have better luck, I had been wondering what these were like for some time and saw no other reports elsewhere.
