Default New in NC - looking for CMP matches

Hello - I'm new to NC - moved from Ohio (I know, away from Camp Perry, not my choice). Please help me to find some matches and places to shoot in NC.
I am in the Air Force and currently located in Fayetteville, NC.

Thanks,
Dave

There are plenty of choices.
Costal Carolina Rifle Club - Shoots at camp Lejune
Cross Creek Rifle Club - I think they are in Fayetteville
North State - XTC matches, Shoots at Butner, great facility!
Durham Pistol and Rifle club - Monthly reduced course, my home range.

The first weekend in May the CMP has their Eastern Games matches followed by the Creedmoor Cup matches at Camp Butner. I've attended all 3 (or 4?) years. They are alot of fun and you should consider attending if at all possible.

HTH

Dan

Default Garand matches

Matches are also held monthly at the Pitt County Wildlife Club located just outside of Greenville, N.C. They are usually on the first (sometimes second) Saturday of the month. You can contact me at norment@suddenlink.net for specific dates.

Haulroad,

If the match sticks to the CMP rules the answer is no. JCG match rifles are to be .30-06. Some clubs will have a "Garand Match" but not use the CMP rules, then .308 is allowed.

Best to contact the match director first. Usually they will let you shoot "Out of Competition" if they stick to the rules. I've also seen a JCG "unlimited" class show up in the listings and the Nat's, do not know if that applies to club level JCG matches.
