Default Talladega 600- questions for Christie

Christie;

A few questions regarding the matches at the park December 8-13, 2015.

  1. What's the deal on the "4-Man Team Match" on Friday December 11, 12:30pm on Range 1? I cannot find it in the Competition Tracker, nor can I find a place to register. It is in the "brochure" that had a FB link posted- at least I think that's where I recently got it. I found the description (NM course 200, 300 & 600 - 50 rounds). I'm sure it's Service Rifle but again, nowhere is a cost to register available.
  2. If the 4-Man Team Match above is indeed a viable match, will it be possible on that day to shoot; 1) EIC Rifle Match- Range 1 @ 8:00am, 2) Carbine Match- Range 2 @ 9:00am AND 3) 4-Man Team Match- Range 1 @ 12:30pm ??
  3. On Sunday, December 12 at 9:00am on Range 1 is the "M1/M14 Match". The brochure states the President's course of fire, I get that. It then goes on to state "Service Rifles used must comply with CMP Service Rules 6.1 and 6.2". Reading the 2015 Service Rifle Rulebook, section 6.2.3 U.S. Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16 is obviously an AR platform. So the question is, are you allowing Service Rifle AR's to compete in this match which you have termed "M1/M14 Match" ?? It certainly appears so from what I read. If that's the case, you (CMP) do understand that hardly anyone, except for a purist, will show up with anything but a Service Rifle AR if they want to be competitive. To me, that completely takes out the fun (and reason) for bringing my M1A. I'll just use my AR. My original understanding was this was going to be a match for the M1/M14 (M1A), akin to what Springfield does with their M1A Match at Perry each year. Please explain/dialogue.
Thanks in advance for the commentary. See you there.

Yes, we are having a 4-Man Team match and thank you for letting us know it was left off the online registration. I have added it to the online registration. Competitors may register online as individuals or when they arrive to the range. The cost is $10.00 per competitor.
I have sent an email for the answer to question 3. Once I receive the answer I will post here. Thank you for your questions and hope you will be able to attend the Talladega 600!

Thanks for the quick response to the 4-Man Team Match.

I look forward to the other responses as well. I'll be there, registered some time ago.

Here is the answer to your third question: The match will be for M14 or commercial equivalents only.

We have also made a few updates to the match program. See the latest program here: http://thecmp.org/competitions/matches/talladega-600/.

As of 11/2/15 program shows 5 gun agg Garand, Springfield, Sniper, 1911 As issued, M & P. Schedule shows Sat 1911 as Issued 11:30 Sniper 1:30 M & P 1:00 Something seems out of place.

The schedule in the full 30 page program has been updated but the individual schedule on the 600 web page appears incorrect.

Any answer to this? trying to decide if I need to change my registration or IF I can shoot all three.
