It wasn’t that long ago that the CMP was running out of Garands. And low and behold Turkey and the Philippines returns a significant amount. So, that may come to pass. Question is, do you want to wait around to find out. CMP will not disclose any negotiations they’re having because they never know if a deal will be reached or the timing of returns.

The Army may still have some at Anniston for some reason. A buddy of mine who had access to the carbines that were in Italy said the quantity transferred to CMP did not equal the quantity to be returned to Army control.

Interesting. Many of us got Garands that came out of Anniston in 2017, so your suggestion is a definite possibility.

The M1 Carbine is a very popular rifle when CMP had them for sale i purchased one of every make they had for sale i knew they would not last long

At the show the average price is $1000 and up for smaller makers.

Havenít purchased a firearm from a show in many years for this very reason. Take the reasonable market or resale price and add 30%. I donít know how any of those guys sell anything.

there's a list around here someplace that shows which countries got what weapons and how many of them (post WW2). Same list as I recall shows how many of the above already came back. "Search" can be your friend ( tho' generally not a pal of mine).
