Default SG slide ????

Has any one ever seen a G.I. slide like this. Or is it a fake or a screw up in the machining??? I friend got this from one of the Isreali carbines.

Maybe someone was trying to increase the cycle rate in full auto?

Iíve seen slides altered on caliber-conversions.

For a less potent round than a 30 carbine, that would make sense.

Have seen a couple slides like this (as mentioned) for conversions.
I believe they were all the smaller arm joint, I believe that would be the Type III.
Presume, Lighter ?
