Went to the NS on 20-19 AM about four or five people in the store racks were mostly full some Eddystones yet four left no 1903s at all some 22 left maybe two racks. Grands were all there no SG M1s yet lots of FG HRA SA WRA , some racker WRA corrects full rack, Cs and Ds still there did not look at them, Looked through the FG SA looking for a WW2 serial with WW2 barrel found a 1 Mill. rifle with a 1944 barrel on it ME2t TE 4 rifling looked strong so i bought it wood was ok could see no cracks did not clean it up yet but looked like it might just shoot. Was worth the trip as i was in Dayton any way at Patterson AFB.

Were the bolt actions anything worth buying?

Any SG Specials?

Was there yesterday. A couple of people came and went while I was there. Hemmed and hawed over an M1917 that did come home with me. Barrel was very bright w great rifling (less than 2 on MW gauge) . Tag said head space was O.K. so should be good to go. Loads of FG Garand's. Some had good wood, a few with very nice post war stocks with great crisp markings. Saw a faint GAW with nice wheel. A rack of Kimber 82's. They looked used but some not abused. I think they were $300 and now wish I had grabbed one. A lot of chrome plated rifles if you like those. Two boxes of $15 M3 scabbards. Picked up one that looked great, just a bit of canvas showing at the very end but no names scratched into it or splits and the hanger was strait. Also 2 boxes of Garand receivers. Maybe a dozen or so that looked BRAND NEW. Could not see any pitting under the beautiful repark and super strong serial #'s ( a bunch of 6 digit). Was going to go with a very nice 5 digit but settled on a 3.6 mil. instead (should have gotten both) - I was told as I stood at the counter judging how my credit card was going to feel, "no one ever drives home saying 'I wish I hadn't bought that'.
