Default m1 carbine stock ???

https://postimg.cc/gallery/1fynfornu/

i posted this in another forum but it probably belongs here...any ideas as to whether it is legit or not....my questions are regarding the X in the sling well, the inspector EC which i have only seen once on a garand international harvester USMC piece and the U.S marking on the right side???....Seller will accept return but only by tonight as I waited a long time before i opened the package....it is a nice condition stock all in all and i hate to return something legit as much as keeping a fake!...any thoughts are appreciated

The US marking on the right is fake, which makes all of the other markings suspect.

Thumbs up lesson learned

Yes,I pulled the trigger too fast on this one...it is on its way back for a refund so lesson learned(and not a too expensive one at that) ......I was hoping that it might be some sort of presentation piece or the like in more recent times....One question left,Is there a post war inspector at Rock Island that used EC stamp....It is odd as most forgers at least attempt to fake real markings etc as opposed to total fantasy......Just wondering....every day I learn at least one thing is a day not wasted in my humble opinion
