Default 1903 Springfield match rule question

Can I take the scope off a USMC style sniper clone, and use it in the 1903 Springfield match?

Would anyone argue the modified handguard and scope blocks violate as-issued rules?

IIRC, there is a specific statement in the rule book allowing just that. I have used my 1941USMC for the Roosevelt Match and would not hesitate to use it in the Springfield match. Good Shooting. .... Addendum: found the specific provision for allowing M1 sniper rifles in the as issued M1 section...nothing similar in the Springfield section. I suspect that is an oversight and am still confident that this has been addressed and is allowed...... I'm going to continue doing it.

Thank you for the info. If you're doing it, I'm doing it!

Rule 4.2.3 section c would seem to rule the use of a scoped rifle out. Removing the scope seems to be OK if you are using the stock sights.

c) Sights must be of the same types that were on rifles issued to regular
military personnel. Special purpose sights designed for sniping, target
practice or competition are not permitted;
