Finally got a chance to shoot my new AO Carbine.
150 rounds using AI and KI USGI magazines I had four mid-feeds. One of the magazines has a very weak spring and it accounted for 3 of the 4 mis-feeds.

Going to put another 150 through it today using brand new, fresh out of the wrapper KI and UQ magazines.

I am shooting PPU FMJRN and SP and Remington Green box FMJ

Read my link I posted.

KCI mags are quality mags, but some I have had the mag spring incorrectly assembled.
I did replace all KCI springs with Wolff, which have been 100% reliable.

Good luck.

Went out again this afternoon and ran 100 rounds of Remington green box through NOS USGI UQ and KI magazines without a single mis-feed or any other problem.

Loaded one of the KI’s I have that has a noticeably weaker spring and had one mis-feed.

Overall I am happy with my AO carbine but I am also happy I have a 1943 Inland and a Fulton built on a Winchester receiver.

Glad your AO is running correctly.
Apparently, they finally got their crap together
from enough complaints.

Anyone have an idea why AO says there barrels are only compatible with AO/Kahr M1 receivers? I was looking for a cheap project barrel to chop down to around 12” and I found on their website saying they couldn’t be used.

I like the Carbine for self defense use, prefer it to the AR, really. But I didn’t want to subject my GI Inland to wear and tear.
I saw an AO in a gun shop ad on Armslist. It was in a Choate folding stock, and the price seemed fair.
Still, I ignored it for two weeks, before I drove over to check it out. Ended up bringing it home for a relatively cheap $450, I think. Came with a 30rd mag and a GI 15rd. Even has the classic-kitsch ventilated handguard.
I’ve had it to the range, and it has functioned great, no problems. The front band spring hook didn’t engage well, and the band went forward while shooting…I adjusted that, filing the hook a little so it hooked the band better…problem solved.
Folded, it fits in a tennis racquet case, and has occasionally ridden in the car with me.

I have an Auto Ordnance M1 Carbine I bought back in 08 or 09, it jammed bad for the first 800 to 1000 rounds but after that it must've gotten broken in because it has ran great ever since.
