Default Fake IHC stocks

Be careful shopping out there. Attached is an image of two fake stocks that were offered for sale this week.

Good post, from the ones I have seen the numbers in the barrel channel are not done that neatly. Is that correct?

I ended up with one fake in a group of stocks I bought cheap. It didn't look even as close as these do. I think someone was practicing on it to see if they could do it. Its still a decent stock for use. I'm just glad it wasn't represented to me or anyone else as authentic. It will end up in my burn pile before I let it go anywhere but for now Its used as a bang around hunting stock.

They are faked because there is big money in faking "original" parts for collectable firearms, cars, and lots of other collectables.

Even more so now with the recent/current IHC Turkey CMP release.

Here is a real one. First thing you notice is that there is no squared off indentation around the number from the edge of the punches like the fakes are showing. the next thing is the even spacing between the numbers.

The numbers are the Julian date code...
Example....1685 would indicate the 168th day (17 June) of 1955
