Two of the FA barreled actions have more options on the barrel, bolt stop, and bolt. Which one would you buy and what combination of options would you get? I have a CMP grade A parts kit.

What is the purpose of the lugged receiver versus the normal receiver?

Looking at these two packages...would make a pretty good build!

One of these kits:

http://windycitysourcing.com/M14_Kits.html

Plus one of these Fulton deals:

http://www.fulton-armory.com/fultona...1-1-1-4-2.aspx

And you can select either a 22 or 18.5 inch barrel.

Bought a standard and lugged receiver last sale. Near totally pleased with both (the roll stamp is slightly catywampus on my receiver heel). Both rifles shooting with 100% reliability and I am getting some one hole and cloverleafs with the HB lugged rifle (in a Boyd Laminated stock), even without the bedding and lug bolt installed yet. Fulton was good to deal with. Good Shooting....

I'm going to be at Perry at the end of the month. How are Fulton's Commercial Row prices compared to the sale?

If you do not have the tools or experience to barrel and headspace the receiver properly, buy the option that is a barrelled receiver, with bolt headspaced to it. Your kit has a bolt stop, so no need to buy one installed already, unless you do not have punches to install the pin in it. May be good to go ahead and get the bolt stop installed for you, if you have never done it, or have no roll pins to do it with.

The lugged receivers are to add life to the bedding, and extend the time needed before refreshing bedding again. If you do not intend to shoot matches, or don't have a bedded rifle in mind, to search for the best accuracy possible, you don't need a lugged receiver. Normal receivers work very well for the majority of shooters out there. It takes a really good shooter to discern, or show the difference, between the two types of receivers.

I sent an email to Fulton Armory and asked them if they were bringing barreled actions to Camp Perry for the National Matches. They replied, yes.

I ordered a receiver, SEI navy suppressor(for CA legal), 10 rd mag, new pins and springs for my TRW A kit. I picked up a NIW TRW bolt a while back and a nice 0-0 like new chrome GI barrel, I believe SAK if thats the correct letters. My kit stock and another I ordered look pretty rough but I'll let that slide for now(call it character). Looking forward to my first M14 style build. I hope the barrel headspaces!
