Saw a mint condition 40X HB for sale at a show in South Carolina this weekend. Don't know if it was from the CMP or not. I think it was tagged at either $1,100 or $1,200.

I just purchased a US property marked one on GB for $2k shipped. It was in excellent shape with the Palma rear/globe front sight that looked unused. It also came with a Unertl 14x that was in excellent condition and a couple of accessories (Winchester bore light w/ alligator clips for free floating the barrel, hand stop, bore guide serialized to the rifle). The rifle stock was marked USN SATU (small arms training unit) w/ the serial number stamped on it. Supposedly it was Art Luppino’s rifle and was an armorer in San Diego. He is well known in the M14 community.
I see them sell for $1-1200 depending on condition and if they have sights. One sold recently here on CMP with a sightron scope for $12-1400 if I recall right. Hope this helps |
