Went to NGD yesterday. Not nearly as large a show as it was 20 years ago. My friend is coming down from Madison again next month for this show. Don't think I've been to the SOS for many years, but it used to be quite the thing. I'll be there, hopefully with some OT money this time. I want to fill some holes in my bayonet collection.

I will be there. This is my fourth year in a row. I have lived in North Carolina since 1992 and I don't know why I didn't go earlier other than not being to take time off in middle of the week before.

Rob,

I've never been to the show. Is it strictly memorabilia for sale? Or is it a good place to find Garand parts and what-not?

I'll be there. Look up YouTube "Show of Shows" & you can get a good look.

Doug,
You can find just about anything there, including lots of M1 Garand parts typically.
Tom and Charlie have Correct Garand Service and are usually there as is Jack P, who also has lots of hard to find parts.
I think at last years show I purchased a nice WRA Lockbar Rear Sight and a WRA SA-52 Garand, and a few other small items.
In general there are quite a few Garands and Carbines there for sale, along with more GI Surplus than you can imagine, from just about everywhere.
Lots of patches & Pins for those that collect that stuff as well.

a pretty decent show IMO
Rob

Live in Louisville and will be there on Thur for sure. Had a table last year at the NGD show same week end and it was really slow with few customers on Sat and almost none on Sun. Had one last weekend and it was much smaller with good attendance Sat but weather kept people home on Sunday. I did well Sat but zip Sunday.
Currently plan to attend both this year but no table at either.

Sounds good Rob. I'm going to try and make it. If the boss let's me - she's five months pregnant so it's going to take some skillful negotiations.

Still mulling it over. If I do, it will be a long day trip on Friday. I'm about 2 hours out, depending on traffic.

I heard the show was a disappointment. Any input from attendees?

I have been a few times, never disappointed except for not having enough money.
