Default Shooting platform for your M1 Carbine?
This hands down, has to be the craziest thing I have ever seen an M1 Carbine used with.



This is a Hiller VZ-1 Pawnee, Evaluated for Infantry use...

"The Hiller VZ-1 Pawnee (U.S. Army designation; earlier Army designation: HO-1) was a unique direct-lift rotor aircraft, using contra-rotating ducted fans for lift inside a platform upon which the single pilot shifted body weight for directional control. The platform was developed starting in 1953 under an Office of Naval Research (ONR) contract to Hiller Aircraft, and flew successfully beginning in 1955."

In honor of my father, Howard C. Ricks. Corporal, Co. E, 2nd Battalion, 20th Marine Engineers, 4th Marine Division. Later renamed Co. B, 4th Pioneer Battalion after Marianna Operation. Service dates February 1943 to October 31, 1945, Combat action: Roi-Namur, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. His rifle SA 893999 met "Captain Crunch".

Can we presume that the recoil from firing anything might send the hovercraft off in a random direction? Quick, accurate follow up shots might be difficult from a moving platform.
