The fit on the 1911 NM bushing, if fitted correctly, will require a bushing wrench to remove.

I haven't had a chance to try that yet but I have determined that the barrel hood and breech face have not been milled out to convert it to 38 special as lot of them were, it is still 38 AMU.

At one time not too long ago someone made a run of brass but can't find any now from the usual sources. Cases can be made from 38 SPCL brass which was what ws used to make the original cases. IIRC the rim was turned down, but if any other changes were made don't recall. Load was WC bullets seated flush. The round was displaced by the standard 38 SPCL with flush seated WC when the S&W 52 and Colt Gold Cups became available.
