Good ammo or bad ammo, I never had any that just laid around. Even if it's bad, it stills works on squirrels and crows out on the farm. The cmp would sell it that way if it were a "have it your way" organization. But, they must run an efficient business model like anything else. And the fact is that they are a mass distribution facility that deals with a lot of bulk ammo and other excess property.

Some day I MAY find a gun that likes it, but 30 different .22 rifles later, I've yet to find it.
I got lucky - SVGE works great in the several .22's I have. But I bought a couple of boxes of maybe a dozen different rounds before commiting to the 5,000 BIG box, so I had a few boxes of average ammo we use to plink with . . . no great loss.

I guess I should have qualified my statement better. It all works ok. Certainly better than ANY HV ammo I've found. But, at pretty close to the same price, I've found that Wolf and SK seem to shoot better in most of my rifles. And, for just plinking at cans or other casual shooting and non-precision work, it's too expensive for that. That's where the "shoot the cheapest stuff you can find" ammo comes in.

Even $150 worth would be better than $300.

Any takers?

No one but CMP will ship to Alaska and the ammo choices for good 22LR are a bit slim at Sportsmans Warehouse.

An unrelated search...but I thought it would be fun to bring back from the dead for this weekend's 22LR-fest.

I have had good luck with the target Standard Vol stuff My 1911 ACE loves it.
And to me the $230 for 500 is a bargain. I do not shoot well enough with the pistols to warrant the SVGE
For general pinking everything else gets Fed Bulk till this 22lr feast came along.
Like i needed more 22lr i am sitting on over 40K of federal bulk.
I will see what the surplus ammo does with it. And if all else fails it is going to work fine in the 10-22, MK2, MK1,Single Six, Bear Cat, Sig 522 and The Walter P22 is picky but now works with Fed Bulk after the first 1000 or so
I am sure the 513T would close up the groups but i am just to cheap tp pay 300 bucks a case lol
Man I have to many 22lr guns

Sounds like a good problem to have. And, by the way, nice pistol!
