Even so, you could still just take it to the post office so long as you got it postmarked October 4. $6.70 max.

A little tip for the CMP crew if you can afford it never hurt anyone, and I'm sure they appreciate it

Why? Do they get a kick back for more expensive postage? I put mine in a full size manila envelope without folding the paperwork and it's still only cost me 3 forever stamps.

Add me to the group, we are up to four. Walked to the post office and needed to add a .21 cent stamp to my forever stamp. So .71 cents. My wife has a notary at her work so I had her notarize it for me.

I was worried the post office had really raised rates when guys were paying $6.70. I guess to me this is not that big of a deal.

The big increase will be Jan 1, 2019. It is supposed to go to 55 cents for a Forever stamp. So best be buying a roll or two now if you can afford them.
