It's really nice to have flexibility when choosing aiming devices on this Blackfeather RS / SEI CQB-16 build.

Default Camp Perry ca 1988

In the late 80's I was on the Downstate Illinois Rifle Team (D.i.R.T.). We competed at Camp Perry a few times. I have almost no photos of that era. Team member Big Fred Woltz dug out this one of me shooting offhand at Camp Perry. Probably 1988 give or take a year.

Brings back good memories.

Sidebar note: Fred's son "Little Fred" held the record for the youngest Distinguished Rifleman for a long time. Won it at age 14 as I recall, and with an M1A to boot. He was finally bumped from that position by a mouse gun shooter.

I'm getting to the stage where 'Glory Days' by Bruce Springstein is my theme song. Especially the line:

"Time slips away and leaves you with mister but boring stories of glory days."

Picked this old girl up last week. It's my first M1A a SAI with a born on date of 1980 and sports a 5-line receiver, NM barrel and all USGI parts. I can't wait to send some rounds downrange with it when the weather gets warmer.
