There are others far more qualified than I am on evaluating the receiver as to who manufactured it. Definite "Type 1".


Doesn't look like it ever had a barrel mounted to it. Or a rear sight. Absent wear marks that would indicate slide movement or a trigger housing being mounted and removed. Inferring not repeatedly used with those two parts in place.



Take a close look at the opening for the left bolt lug. The area just forward of the opening. Also the angle of cut to the left of the opening up to and over the top. The width of the opening on the top at the left side of the opening.


Kinda looks like a reject but just a semi-educated guess.

Certainly a possibility. I did drop a bolt in it and it does seem to work as intended.

As mentioned earlier in this thread there is a real good possibility the receiver hasn't been hardened. Before building it into something someone will be inclined to shoot it would be a real good idea to get it hardness tested.
