Look close at the leather. Does it look really, really old or like it was made yesterday?

Have they made reproduction Carbine cases with steel zippers?

I have no idea. I know nothing other than they do make or did make reproduction cases.

It looks genuine to me. As for value, the high end ones seem to be in the $160 range. I have seen them for $100-$120 quite often. I wouldn't part with one for much less than $100 right now especially one in such good shape as yours. I did find a nice one at a gun show about 2-3 years ago for $60, but that was 2-3 years ago.

That case is genuine. I would say that one is in the $100-135 range as in the pictures I see damage to the leather tabs and soiled areas on the canvas.

Bud Evers in California used to make cases out of old US Army truck tarps. Looked absolutely correct in all regards.
