Hi Scott,

I have been on the forum for many years.
Some of the guys here think Chuck can walk on water.

"WE" know he builds a really nice rifle for you at a fair price! Please take his advice.
Do without lunch for a few weeks or a month or two! Save the cash & invest it in your rifle, you will be repaid with a work of ART & it will double in price, if you wish to sell it off later on! It's worked for me a few times!

Good Luck in any event,
broom

Yes, great advice here. Chuck would be great to finish your good find with GI parts and barrel.
Walking on water? No but he sure could skim it with his dirt bikes back in the day!

I would not be surprised if that is an original A4 barrel, from it being overhauled. I'd knock the front sight off to see if it is parked underneath and if a punch mark is present.

Echo Mike D's comments, My A4 had a front sight band installed. Thought the same thing, "a replaced barrel". Removed the front sight band and the barrel was parkerized. underneath it.

Airborne,
Mark

Got the front sights off today - its an A3 barrel 100%. Going to be sending it to Chuck in the near future to turn it back into a proper A4. Seems like I did pretty well overall with this auction!
