Ship it to yourself via Fed-Ex or UPS; have it held at the hub (or Fed-Ex Office if a few days) until your return.

I don't know how long the Post Office would hold it, but they would for some period of time if a signature was required (then it wouldn't be left on the porch).

you can ship to yourself without a license at either end (and even if it is not a C&R).

And 10% tax rate in Oxford/Anniston is excessive, I don't care who you are (or think you are)!

So does this work for any milsurp rifle, when shipping it to yourself? Or is this because of the CMP/Garand special situation?
