This is my first carbine, as previously I have only owned M1 Garands. I actually bought this for my son.

It has a National Postal Meter receiver with an Underwood barrel.

I've not even had time to shoot it or disassemble it to inventory the various parts, so I'm not sure how much of it is original or correct yet, but the price was right.

OK guys, we have a new name for this sticky, "Carbine Barreled Receiver Pics & Data". I'm sure as hell not trying to keep anyone out of this thread with just a pic of a carbine that came assembled but this one is a special place for those of us that have taken JUST a barrel and receiver destined for who knows what/where and brought them back to life as a complete carbine that WE put together.

Let's keep this one going, there are lots of the BR's out there unfinished and sitting in a corner wating untill Xmas was over to get started.
DO IT!!

Nice S.G. I notice the trigger housing is type IV, what markings ? I like the stamped/brazed housing for some reason. Some have no marks except a
-U- inside the mag well and some with nothing but a part of a flaming bomb on the bottom of the guard. Just curious.

My FIRST, but not my last . . .
Traded a Taurus PT1911 & 800 rounds .45acp ammo for it.

(I.B.M. CORP) receiver, (I.B.M. CORP no date) barrel, ? commercial ? stock/buttplate, mixmaster.
I couldn’t be any happier if it was a certified museum piece.

I have all the parts for my first build, but have not yet installed the front sight. It is a Winchester w/Winchester barrel. This is my cost by part (all parts include shipping):

B/R with rear sight (nice bonus) = $136.25
W Bolt = $95
Trigger Group (all W except for sear) = $105
Trigger House Retaining Pin = $2
Op Slide (W) = $55
Barrel Band (T3) = $20
Front Sight = $20
Front Sight Key/Pin = $4
Stock (M2 from Cheaper-than-Dirt) = $32
Handguard = $20

Total = $489.25

I could have done it a little cheaper, but lucked into a decent deal on the Winchester trigger group and op slide at a local gun show. So, I paid up a little for a W bolt as well. I probably could have saved $30-$40 by going with non-W parts there (I have ~$80 into non-W bolt and $40 in non-W slide). I am happy with it. Now, I just need to get it together. I also sprung for JR's high priced front sight installation tool (PVC pipe). That cost is not included in my calculations
