Default SPF 1943 Remington 03A3

Rifle is in great condition. I thought at first rifle was refinished because stock is so nice. It looks out of the box new. My research and markings says otherwise. Looks like it was brought into Ogden Arsenal but nothing was done except maybe the bolt body and sight hood. I came to this conclusion based on it having the OG cartouche but only a single P circle proof. The root of the bolt arm has X and dot on one side and 2 on the other indicating it is Smith Corona. The sight hood has S with lines on either side which I believe is Springfield. Everything else I could find is Marked with an R. Barrel is marked 12-43 with flaming bomb. Comes with original cleaning kit which looks like it was maybe used once. I would keep this one myself but it is in too nice of condition to shoot and I like to shoot all my guns.

SPF to Blurry $850 + shipping.

Also have Czech S lion Marked Budapest M1895/30 for sale w/ 195 rounds of ammo and 27 original clips for $400 + shipping will work a package deal for both.

Default Quick question....

Any idea of the ME and/ or TE readings. Also, did you get this from the CMP?
Thanks.
Michael

Almost forgot...it is a nice looking rifle. Would it be possible to get a picture of the receiver stamping?

No I do not know the readings. I can tell you rifling looks good and rifle looks hardly used. I did not get it from CMP. I bought it from a private collection. The previous owner passed away 5 years ago and family sold it to me. Condition looks great to me.

Is the barrel a two groove or a four groove barrel?

It looks to me to be a 4 groove barrel. I've never seen a 2 groove barrel in person, but it looks like other 4 groove barrels I have. I know some say that 4 grooves are fakes but this does not look recut and everything else says its real. My research found that Remington used both 2 and 4 groove barrels into early 1944. Rifle was owned by older collector who started collecting in the 1950s. I have purchased and sold multiple items from the collection and there hasn't been a problem with one yet. If anyone has any questions or would like more pics of anything please don't hesitate to ask.

I don't have a guage but here is a pic of Lake City M72 Match Ammo and it seems to go to exactly where it should on a new barrel.
