Can anyone identify the stamps on these three stock butt plates?

My understanding is SA was the only maker to mark stocks under the butt plate.
The "cccc" marking from what I've read is from when the stock wood was inserted into the lathe and these marks were the result of the clamping process.

Thanks for posting the link Shomway. Always nice to read Rick B. notes.
If the butt plate inspector stamps began with EMcF (mid '42) I would think (hope) the cccc stock may be pre EMcF era.

My July '41 SA Garand has a CMP stock. Been looking for a GHS stock. Maybe cccc is it. There's a faint cartouche but haven't been able to dechiper exactly what's stamped outside of straight lines & SA and a serif P on the bottom of the grip.

Does it have a digit in the barrel channel or a scooped clip latch cutout like in the below pics?

It has what appears to be an S, which an old post says is indicative of GAW?
And yes to the notch, but that notch is on every Garand stock I've seen (about 8 or so).

I've read guidance on Channel Length but not sure where to measure from.

Stock #3, a coal black Danish return, has a circle P way up by the trigger. Winchester? Or could another maker have this also.

Nothing stamped on the front ferrule.

Look at the bottom of that cutout. Yours is flat whereas the one I posted looks like the wood has been "scooped" out. If it's scooped like the one in the pic I posted it would be indicative of a GHS stock. The one in your pic is not "scooped"

Ahh... got it. You're correct. Flat bottom, not scooped. A good day to learn sumthin' new.
