Default Ammo Question?

Today I went to a gunshow with a friend, he has just got into .30 carbines. He found some bandoliers of .30 carbine ammo. The odd thing was it was headstamped LC 5 nothing else. I don't remember ever seeing any headstamped that way. It was loaded in stripper clips and in bandoliers, they were dated 1954. The lot # was 13886 on the bandoliers. I know there is a list that shows lot numbers by years, but I don't remember where I saw it at. Does anybody know what year this ammo was manufactured at Lake City my guess is 1955.

Default

"LC 5" is "1955

The die for "54" had the 4 ground off and was recycled.
