Default Rapid stage reload with K31

The rules always say 2 and 8 or 5 and 5

The K31 clips hold 6 rounds and dont work well with 5.
So is it a rule violation to load 4 and then 6 on the reload by clip.

Im not buying another mag and will load by clip

I really don't think anyone would care. For most club level events they are just happy to have you come out and participate. Even when I shot the vintage match at Perry they were not tight about little stuff like that.

If you really want to do 5 and 5 you can glue pieces of appropriate diameter dowel into the front and back paper sections of the stripper clip where the topmost cartridge would go. This will effectively block it from 6 to 5 rounds, take up the slack space and give your thumb a clear path to push the cartridges through and into the magazine.

They have repro clips now for much less than the real ones. Its so much easier to load 5 and 5

In competition, I simply use a mag from another one of my K31 rifles - but have heard of people gluing a dowel in the speed loader to take up the 6th round position.

I've not had any difficulties with loading only 5 in the clips.

But, like somebody else said, I've seen others glue a couple of pieces of appropriately sized dowel into the clip.

Get a 2nd mag. Much easier than dealing with the wax stripper clips

If you purchase any of these, make sure you also get some 2mmx12mm S.S. rollpins to replace the pins that come with the magazine. I bought a 3 extra mags a few years ago to use at the national matches. One of the magazines had the pin come out while on the line and I lost the spring. Luckily I found the mag release arm, so I replaced all pins with the 2mmx12mm pins.
