Took a major beating, some serious damage to our house and our neighbors. Waiting for the back end to finish blowing through to make an assessment. Had to go over to a neighbors house during the eye due to damage at our house.

Sorry to hear this but sounds like you and the wife are unharmed. Things can be repaired.
Sounds like Mexico Beach got hit really hard.

Had a tornado come through during the back end of the storm. Not sure if the house is structurally sound, going to move guns to the Jeep in the AM, move stuff from the damaged rooms to a holding area in the house, until we can get a storage unit of some sort.

The tornado came right down the street beside our house, the reason for so much damage.

Take care Sarge! We all will be thinking about you. Unless absolutely necessary don't go anywhere tonight due to the dangers out there.

House is in pretty bad shape, early assessment by me looks like it might be done for. Moved guns to a dry room, will wipe down and oil in the AM. Will move what is salvageable to a central dry area in the house until I can find storage. Right now we are in a sense homeless.

Son is going to take his two kids to his in laws in South Carolina, until they can figure out what they are going to do. His wife was injured in basic and is being released home on Friday to heal. Daughter and SIL, will find out if their trailer still exists in the AM, if not they'll probably stay with his family as long as their place is okay.

Adrenaline is coming down, and you realise everything you worked hard for is basically gone. Hits you pretty damn hard, you try to look to the future and be thankful everyone is alive, but everytime you walk outside and see your house and the destruction around you it brings you back to the present your heart sinks and it hits you hard again.

Going to try and sleep if my mind will let me.........

So sorry to hear about the house but happy you and the wife are okay. Stuff can be replaced, you two can not. Prayers sent for you and all the folks around you.
If we can help in any way just let us know.

Do be careful. Don't confuse a passerby for a looter - in order to shoot, they usually must have intentionally entered with the intention to commit a serious crime. If they look confused or helpless when they stumbled by, then the investigators may not agree that they were looting or trying to loot, and you may find yourself with more legal bills than you can ever hope to pay in your lifetime.

Oh man... I'm so sorry. We got hit last year by the cat4 hurricane Maria. I'm lucky to have a concrete home, so it didn't had much damages. At least you and your family are ok. Hope you can get back on your feet very soon.

Sgt., anything I, or we, can do to help, send to you, please let us know. I know your whole area got kicked in the butt. Many, many others in the same boat. It will come together and take a good while to start over.

You hang in there and know we, the whole family here, have you, and yours, in our thoughts and prayers.
