Default Ok...this M2 stock is weird....

I bought an M2 with a cut down M1903 glass bedded stock...I just couldn’t stand seeing the rifle in that stock, so I did some inletting in an “assumed” M2 stock for the Timney trigger and some barrel channel inletting to make the barrel free floating...then I noticed that the “M2” stock apparently had been modified...it has been refinished and has no visible cartouches/stamps, but the stock comb is noticeably different from a standard M2 stock...any opinions? The modified M2 is on the top, a standard M2 is on the bottom. Possibly a modified M1 stock, or an aftermarket?

It appears to be an 1922M1 Issue stock that was modified by Springfield Armory for the M2. They basically reshaped the M1 "B" type oval pistol grip to the newer M2 configuration. The modified stock, however, still had the M1 Drop-Of-Heel and lower comb.
