Default Forgotten Weapons: 1911 vs M1 Carbine in a Practical Match

Interesting video on accuracy between the 1911 and M1 Carbine.

Validates the WD decision to develop/issue the M-1 Carbine for support troops. At real world pistol distances, the Carbine was simply superior for practical shooting. In the A2 version it was without question more useful. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

The June 1940 request from the Chief of Infantry cites the need for a light rifle for supporting weapons crews in the infantry regiment. Your term 'support troops' was not used. Words matter.
