I surmise two conclusions from your statements: (1) Neither of you have good shooting skills, and/or (2) your Smith-Corona rifle is broken.

I have what I consider the best of both worlds: an 03A3 SC receiver with a Remington 03A3 barrel. I hit at 100 yards the area of a hard ball. No brag, just fact!

I love the Smith-Corona I purchased last year. It was inspected/graded by JB. It's a dream to shoot. I have not been able to get a chance to shoot my Remington 1903A3 that I purchased this year yet. I hope it's as good as my Smith Corona.

I purchased a correct SC at the Show of Shows in Louisville from a forum member last February. S/N 47810XX. I enjoy shooting it more than any other 1903 or variant that I've ever shot. For a milsurp rifle it's a nail driver.
