i have not shot factory ammo in a long time. I don't recall any problems with GMM when I tried it in my m1.

I recently purchased some Federal Gold Medal Match in 30/06 and pulled 2 rounds apart to check out the load. 53.7 grains of what looks like IMR 4831. Not the kind of powder your op rod will like. Federal says it is not to be used in the Garand. Powder is too slow.

Thanks for that pull. I think I'll pass on throwing it through the Garand, and stick to the bolt guns with that ammunition.
