What is the barrel date and do you have any pics?
After seeing the pics what do you think?

I think it is nice and I wouldn't change the slide.
Your slide looks like a L379 which would be correct for Saginaw built Inland receivers above SN 849,4xx. I have an inland built 977xxx which would be around the same time frame as yours and it also has a L379 slide. You can fund this info on CC newsletter #346 page #17.
Your receiver should have a small SG on the lower left front of the receiver.
I can send you a data sheet on mine if you want to compare. Mine has a 9-43 barrel.
You also could use an unmarked sling swivel. Mine is unmarked.
Looks like an up and up late '43 Inland.

Took it apart this afternoon. It does have SG on the receiver. I would like to get a copy of the data sheet & the newsletter. Would an II marked oiler be correct? Thanks for your help.

Could be but most likely an IS would be correct at this point in production.
If you have an II it would still be ok as the oilers were not always issued with the carbine.

I'd like to get a pdf of your data sheet if you can scan it. How can I get a copy of the newsletter? My email address is [email protected]. What mag would be correct? My type 1 band is a UI. Would the swivel be unmarked? Thanks!

Not all L379 slides are the same. The question is: Does your L379 slide have the increased dwell or not? CC newsletter 346 does not tell the whole story. You need newsletter 353 on Inland's second serial number block to show you what the difference is.

All L379 slides used in the first serial number block probably did not have the increasd dwell.

Mine is a L379 Type V based on the Slide Sticky Thread. What should mine be?
