Are there any one out there using the 853 a junior club?

Just starting out.

Think you would be much happier with 888's or 887's starting out.

853's are a wonderful way to start out an air rifle program. Not a lot of investment required and a lot of kids can get in on the shooting. Also makes more money available for target traps, pellets, kneeling roles, mats, and gloves Right now I saw more than a few very nice reconditioned ones at the North Store for $85 apiece. They are returns from Army units that received the 887's. When you compare the price of a reconditioned 853 and the price of a 887 it's a no brainer to start with the 853. When your program is up and running and you start discovering some talented shooters you can begin the transition to better quality air rifles.
Don't be afraid of the 853's your young shooters will be able to excel with them without great cost. Beach
