First "M1 Carbine" was a milspec civvie model Universal for my father which came back to me when he passed... My first real wartime M1 CARBINE I got last week... a five digit Inland mixmaster for $525 from Bill Goodman's Gun and Knife Show from a private seller.

I picked out my first Carbine at the SS in 2009. It was a service grade Quality Hardware and for the life of me I don't remember how much it cost. Maybe it was $595??? Anyone have a price list from then?

I missed the boat on the CMP Carbines, and again on the barreled receivers. I bought my first one (and second, and third, and fourth, and fifth...) from these forums, since I wanted something with some CMP documentation.

I've purchased one from GB, since the price was too good to pass, and 2 from the CMP auctions (M1A1s, since I don't trust myself to not get ripped off on a fake) as well.

Unless the price is too good to pass on, I'd prefer to buy CMP guns from forum members, all else equal.
