Default RM1-Service

I plan to go to the South Store in a couple months. I won't have the money till then.....I've been saving for this special rifle.

Do you guys think there will be some Service grades left, maybe Springfield Armory? That's the one I want.....
Thanks in advance for your help....

If you look at the Garand picture thread and there are pics of the hang tag you will see that between being graded and sold/received is about 2 weeks....maybe less. They appear to be working fast to avoid any back orders. There is no way to know what will be availble in 2 months.....
Pic posted on 12-27 and hang tag dated 12-12......15 days.

If you go to the south store there is a 10% tax. It's not quite as high at the Talladega range store. There isn't any tax if you mail order & live out of state but you can't personally inspect your rifle first.

If there's any way possible I would recommend that everyone visit a CMP store at least once. There's nothing like having the opportunity to inspect all those rifles and knowing it's within your power to take one or more of them home with you. From South Store you also have the option of taking the 20 minute drive to TMP and repeating the process. Not a bad way to spend a day for sure.

Totally agree!

BUT

Lock your credit card in your glove box.

My son and I intended to buy three M1s and left the store with five, a bayonet, several bags of en blocks, several slings, and a few other items...$$$$$

And don't forget they have a two-fer on ammo right now at time of purchase, both in store and mail order.

If at all possible try to visit when PH 68 is at the South Store. His assistance was invaluable when we picked out our rifles. He assisted my son getting an excellent WW2 manufactured CMP Special.

He helped me with two exceptional early WW2 WRAs that I would have had no clue how special they are.

Save enough $ for a bayonet and a sling. With PH68s assistance Travis ended up with a really nice WW2 US manufactured bayonet and a WW2 sling.

Even though there is a 10% tax at the South Store, (7% at TMP), it is well worth it to pick out your rifle and get the assistance of the store staff and PH68.

Make sure you have all your paperwork in order and with you.
