I paid $300 for mine about 17 years ago. It was brand new in the box with Redfield Palma sights. They're good for prone or off the bench shooting. They're a little big and heavy for shooting off-hand.

Great shooter - you can get some real good mileage out of that 44US, too - mine got a big help when I polished the sear, etc. They don't have a lot of room for polishing - very thin hardened layer. I'll send pics of my scope rail job - sent you a message a few minutes ago.

Hi captaincalc,

Yes Sir! Cleaned up the trigger on the 44US like night & day! The trigger on the 144LS was always nice!

Hi Guys,

The M-12 saga continues! I discovered the thick blade insert in the now
( at least third owner) Redfield Olympic front sight was from a Lyman set!
I did a little searching & ordered a correct set from Lee Shaver! The price was fair for the quality of the 10 pc set! Install a insert for a 50 yd target & blazed away with the single shot M-12

Half inch groups sitting at a bench ! I'm 76 & I did my HAPPY dance!

Now I have to locate a correct hand stop & a set of sling swivels!

Depending on what I read. It might just be a knurled round alum unit or a plastic or alum stop Any one know for sure?

Where can I locate the missing items at a fair price?

Thanks for any help,
broom

Hi edlmann,

Will that hand stop fit the M-12 rail out of the box? The ad does not mention the M-12 ?

I hate to alter a new item to fit the rifle.

Thanks for reply & the lead,
broom
