Default Vendor Links

In reading the "Announcement" which stated forum rules I noticed a no vendor links item unless a sponsor. Perhaps I am misreading this but this seems pretty restrictive. I have no connection direct or indirect with any vendor. Sometimes I just want to help another poster find an item which is hard to locate. A case in point was where someone was looking for dummy ammo and I included a link to a vendor who had it. Is this type of thing now a no-no?

I would think that someone asking a question would be different than some vendor comming onboard and telling people about their web site. JMHO
I think thats what they mean.

Not Orest.
I have, and seen others in the past, post links to a website of a supplier/vendor, in response to a member looking for a source.
I've never seen one of us "get in trouble" for it.

I would agree with rocknrod about the rule's spirit.

rocknrod hit the nail on the head.

We do not want:
"buy new nike shoes"
"check out my gunbroker/ebay auction link"
"click here for cute Asian midget pictures"

I could go on, but I think you get the drift.
